LA Experimental Artists
Wednesday, May 7 – Saturday, May 24, 2008
Reception: Saturday, May 10, 4–6pm
Nearly 20 years ago, a number of artists in the Valley Watercolor Society started meeting regularly to paint together, experimenting with watermedia materials and techniques. Originally known as The Friday Painters, this spin-off group evolved into LA Experimental Artists (LAEA), a group of artists who meet monthly at VIVA to reinvent old and explore new techniques in collage, assemblage, watermedia, monotypes, and digital art, sharing friendship and ideas as they go. There are now three LA Experimental Artist groups, and ImproviZations 3 is their third annual show where twenty-three artists representating all three LAEA groups will be exhibiting.
