LA Experimental Artists
Wednesday, November 24 – Thursday, December 23, 2010
Reception and Holiday Boutique: Sunday, November 28, 2010, 4:00–7:00pm
Over 20 years ago LA Experimental Artists began as a co-op of 12 artists and has evolved to four extremely creative groups of accomplished, talented and award-winning artists who meet monthly at VIVA. The groups reinvent old and explore new techniques in collage, assemblage, watermedia, monotypes, fiber art, and digital art, sharing friendship, ideas and techniques.
ImproviZations 5 is the fifth annual exhibit, and will be the final exhibit to show at the venue where VIVA Art Center is now located. The reception will also feature a performance by Dulcimer player, Geoffrey Levitt.
This exhibit, holiday boutique and bin art promises to be an exciting display of works from some of the area’s best experimental and abstract artists. This year’s exhibit features the works of 21 artists who have joined together to create and form what promises to be a compelling and poignant display of experimental works of art. Always engaging and stimulating, this exhibition will share an exciting broad range of approaches, techniques and content.
All participating artists will be creating a 12” x 12” canvas, with the theme “Loosen Up.” These works of art will be affordably priced and sold separately, and 10 percent of the proceeds from the sales of this special project will be donated to the non-profit organization, Doctors Without Borders.
A list of all 21 exhibiting artists is included in the sidebar to the right; click to download a PDF bio.
