Los Angeles Fiber Artists
“Fiber Pathways II: Textile Art in the 21st Century”
November 21 – December 8, 2007
Los Angeles Fiber Artists is a group of fiber artists from the greater Los Angeles area that came together to share a passion for the fiber medium and to create a venue to reach out to the public. The new show is “Fiber Pathways II: Textile Art in the 21st Century.”
Fiber artists use textiles as a starting point for design; the artists custom dye, paint, embellish and manipulate fabric and use fibers for digital and other forms of imagery. The works in this show feature many new approaches to textile design. Featured artists include Eileen Alber, Juliet Alters, Betty Amador, Loris Bogue, Linda Cassirer, Paula Chung, Melissa Frankel, Pamela Price Klebaum, Jayne Larson, Gwen Mayer, Karen Rips and Carolyn Ryan.
