Class Description
Buddhism teaches that to find lasting happiness and meaning in our lives we need to follow a spiritual path. Kadampa Buddhism offers modern day practitioners methods to transform their daily life into the spiritual path. Founded by renowned meditation master and author Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, it offers the complete Buddhist path to lasting peace and happiness.
The General Program (GP) provides a basic introduction to Buddhist teachings and meditation that is suitable for beginners. Through these classes we can learn how to meditate, use Buddha's advice in our daily lives to solve our problems, and find the peace and happiness we seek.
About Your Instructor
Classes are taught by Gary Davis from the Kadampa Meditation Center California (formerly known as Khandakapala Buddhist Center). Gary has been teaching these classes locally for over three years and he has been a senior student with KMC CA's Teacher Training Program for some six years. Inspired by the center's resident teacher, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, and by Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gary teaches Buddha's wisdom with warmth and humor. He is admired for his genuine kindness and good heart.
