Women Painters West
“Memento Mori” Exhibit
Wednesday, November 3 – Saturday, November 20, 2010
Reception: Sunday, November 7, 2–4pm
Women Painters West offers stunning work in many mediums from its professional members. Their shows consist of paintings, collage and mixed media with a unique feminine view point. Women Painters West is one of the founding members of VIVA Art Center.
Memento Mori is a Latin phrase translated as "Remember you must die." As an artistic tradition its purpose is to remind us of our mortality and brevity and fragility of life. Popular in the 17th century, this show is open for a 21st century interpretation and artistic expression.
